BORROWING FREE GRAPHICS ON THE WEB More than once I have cautioned you against over-doing with pictures and graphics, but there is one more neat little trick you should know. You can actually put in your ad any picture, clip art or graphic that you see on the web. (Oops! I said any - NOT SO! A lot of the images on the World Wide Web are copyrighted and you must check with the owner before using them or they could have grounds to sue you.) So, if you see something on the web that you like, and you are CERTAIN you can copy it for your own use, here's what you do. Simply click on the image with the right button on your mouse. Select "Save Picture As" (or "Save Image As") on the pop up menu. Tell your computer which directory you want to save it in, give it a name you will recognize later, and zap! - it's stored on your hard drive. You can then use it internally on documents you are producing or upload it to your web space and treat it like any other picture when using it in your ads. Don't underestimate this tool. If you can find an exact image of your item, or some graphics you were looking for, and the owner will let you use them, you can put that picture or graphic in your ad at NO COST WHATSOEVER! If you have no other means to obtain pictures, this is a very good way to get started. If you want to look for FREE graphics that you don't have to worry about using, just search again by typing in "free graphics" or "free web graphics" and you will find some sites where the pictures are free. ... ... ... ... • Previous Page • Next Page |
