BORROWING COOL ADS You can use basically the same procedure to borrow good looking ads from the internet. Choose file from the tool bar on your browser, then choose "Save" or "Save As" and save the file to your hard disc. The difference here is you now need to open it in an HTML editor program (or a page building program like Netscape Composer or Microsoft Front Page) and change the text and pictures to fit what you need (or say what you want them to say.) Once you figure this little technique out, you can put up some great ads with very little work. [Caution here: You do need to be pretty familiar with HTML to use an HTML editor when you decide to do this or you can waste a lot of time trying to get it to say what you want it to say.] When you are ready to post your ad, you have to click on something that says either "Show Source" or "Show HTML". This will bring up a window with the plain text HTML code. Now all you do is copy the information that you want to put in your ad and paste it into the description box on the auction's Add Items page. You usually don't need to copy the <heading> part (start right after that) or the ending </body> and </html> tags. If you are using an HTML editor, no matter how simple of a program, give this a try and preview it on an auction site like eBay (don't agree and submit.) It's kind of fun to try, and as long as you don't submit the ad, you can play around with it for as long as you like for free. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... • Previous Page • Next Page |
